Environmental influences - electromagnetic pollution

Impact on daily life
“People cannot develop in the same way in an atmosphere that is permeated by electrical currents and radiation from all sides. This has an impact on the entire development of human beings.”
-Rudolf Steiner
ELECTROMAGNETIC POLLUTION
It is very important for us to continue to point out the dangers of mobile communications, Wi-Fi, and DECT in the workplace and at home. We cannot directly influence the electromagnetic pollution that enters our living and working spaces from outside. This makes it all the more important to keep exposure as low as possible in our own homes.
We receive many inquiries from callers seeking helpf for nearby cell phone towers or neighbors' Wi-Fi systems. However, their own devices, Wi-Fi systems or cordless phones (DECT phones) are often overlooked! These devices can be thought of as radio towers that constantly transmit very strong signals—after all, they are specifically designed to penetrate concrete walls and ceilings. But the convenience of a wireless installations comes at a very high price: for example, the radiation from a tablet PC with Wi-Fi turned on exceeds the BUND recommendations by a factor of 30,000.
Studies on electromagnetic pollution
Is it proven, that radiation from Wi-Fi, cell phones, and other devices is harmful? This has been a subject of controversy for many years, and the more commonplace the use of these devices becomes, the less likely it seems that they could pose a danger.
The citizens' initiative diagnose:funk has spent years meticulously reviewing and evaluating numerous studies. One noteworthy study is a review published in 2018 that documents more than 100 studies on Wi-Fi. The authors summarize the results as follows:
“The current limits and SAR values do not protect against the health risks of Wi-Fi radiation. The negative effects on learning, attention, and behavior justify the avoidance of Wi-Fi applications in educational institutions of all ages ... Wi-Fi should not be used in bedrooms, workplaces, recreation rooms, hospital rooms, lecture halls, classrooms, and public transportation.”
This review documents harmful effects on the EEG and brain functions (12 studies), fertility (18), DNA and cancer development (29), the heart (5), the thyroid gland (3), gene expression (5), apoptosis (9), the liver (4), and cell growth (4). Forty-one studies identify oxidative cell stress as the mechanism of damage, and 22 studies identify negative effects on cognition, learning, attention, and behavior.

Reduce electromagnetic pollution
The list of “radio-friendly” devices is constantly growing: not only routers, computers, and printers, but also game consoles, televisions, cameras, smoke detectors, and vacuum and mowing robots are equipped with Wi-Fi.
Nevertheless, you can significantly reduce these exposures in your own environment by checking which devices you can switch off, put on a “leash,” or keep your distance from when using them.
Tips for using cell phones, Wi-Fi, and cordless phones to reduce electromagnetic pollution
1) Switch off
This is still the simplest, cheapest, and safest method to avoid exposure!
You can find a practical tip on how to easily switch off your Wi-Fi automatically at night, for example, here on our YouTube channel.
2) Leash
If possible, only use wired devices. Disable the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth functions on your devices and connect to the internet via a network cable instead. Very inexpensive adapters are available for this purpose (search the internet using keywords such as “LAN adapter smartphone”).
At home, switch off your cell phone and use your landline phone—with an extension cord if necessary.
3) Keep your distance
If you want or need to use such devices, install them as far away from sleeping or working areas as possible. When making mobile phone calls, switch to speakerphone mode or use wired, shielded headsets.
The duration of exposure to radiation is also a decisive health factor. Make sure you use the devices for shorter periods and less frequently.
Looking for a new smartphone? Be sure to pay attention to the radiation emitted by the devices, as there are very large differences. A list of current devices and their radiation values can be found here.
Origin of electromagnetic pollution
Electromagnetic frequencies are among the formative forces of nature. Over the course of the Earth's long history, they have been able to differentiate and harmonize with one another.
Every stone, every flower, every cell, even states of health and illness modulate their vibrations in different ways. Birds, fish, and bees use electromagnetic frequencies—as one of many factors—for orientation.
Within a few years, a global network of very strong, artificial electromagnetic frequencies has been established. However, these interfere with natural frequencies without any possibility of adaptation. It is therefore hardly surprising that more and more people are feeling increased stress from radio technology and reporting that they are sensitive to it.
Sources of electromagnetic pollution
Electromagnetic pollution is mainly caused by cell phone towers, satellite technology, radar systems, TV and radio, high-voltage power lines, transformers, and overhead lines for trains and trams. However, our homes and offices are also exposed to considerable levels of pollution from cordless phones, Wi-Fi, PV systems, smart meters, heat pumps, radio alarm clocks, cell phones, smartphones, tablets, notebooks, Bluetooth devices, and other equipment.
Described symptoms of electromagnetic pollution include:
Mood swings, listlessness, concentration and sleep disorders, feelings of tightness and pressure, nervousness and irritability, headaches, nausea, constant stress, and much more.
