In order to provide fast and global internet access "for everyone", several large corporations are working in parallel on globally available, satellite-based systems. The pioneer is Elon Musk's company SpaceX, which already has around 3,300 satellites in use, with 40,000 in total being applied for. The expected large number of end devices will make high-frequency exposure unavoidable in addition to mobile communications, which will also affect rural regions.
